See the Bees

Homecoming, May 2010 slideshow. It's displaying in reverse order right now, but you get the idea!

These images are from January 29, 2011 "Bee Spring" This was the first inspection since late October/early November. The hive weighed 38 pounds.

If you can hold your lunch, check out these photos of what happens when the wax moths invade. This was a weak hive that was requeened in  early September. It was just five weeks from realization that the hive was queenless through introduction of a new queen and waiting three weeks for the new brood to hatch. During that time -- very early on -- the wax moth larvae hatched, went to work and disrupted the new queen. Just three weeks after the introduction of the new queen, this was the disaster!
